Phone & contactless
Your first payment on a phone: a business checklist
From account activation to receipts: prepare your first contactless payment, tracking and a backup before meeting the customer.

The essentials
Before your first payment, check three things: your account is authorised to accept payments, your phone supports the app and you can find a transaction. Then prepare the amount, reference and receipt process without confusing a demonstration with a real payment.
The account: complete activation
Starting registration is not completing activation. Check business information, any provider requests and the payout account. Find the status that explicitly confirms you can accept payments.
For Blaya, this new direction still presents a flow requiring qualification. A local mock-up or test result does not prove live payments are available.
The phone: prepare working conditions
Check the app’s official compatibility requirements for your model and operating system. Install required updates, charge the battery and check connectivity. Arrange account access without giving your credentials to a colleague.
The flow: know what to do for each result
Prepare the amount and a clear reference. Show the total to the customer, follow the reading instructions and wait for the result. Then find the payment in your records and use the available receipt flow.
- Confirmed: check the details and offer a receipt.
- Declined: read the message and offer a suitable alternative.
- Uncertain: find the first transaction before retrying.
Rehearsal: use the right environment
If your provider offers a demonstration mode, use it to learn the screens. Test data should remain clearly identifiable. A live transaction moves real money and should not be initiated simply to produce a screenshot.
In practice
Ready before the appointment
You should be able to explain the flow in one sentence, find the payment and know what to do if the result is uncertain. That preparation matters as much as the contactless gesture itself.
